The Mahone Bay Regatta is a wonderful event for the whole family with sailing races and activities for everyone around the town, in July tour historic houses during the Treasures of Mahone Bay weekend, early fall brings the Scarecrow Festival, and the Father Christmas Festival is a pre-Christmas treat.

In neighbouring Lunenburg, there are annual special events, such as the Folk Harbour Festival and the Nova Scotia Folk Art Festival
