Around & About

Bayview Pines Country Inn is close to a wide range of fascinating things to see and do. Almost at our front door, we have ocean access with a slipway and small beach area. Kayaking and sailing can be arranged -- a great way for novice and expert boaters alike to enjoy our wonderful coastline and islands.

The Town of Mahone Bay is only 6 km down the road with its attractive main street lined with shops, galleries, markets, artists' studios, museums, restaurants, pub, heritage buildings and friendly people.

And there are our local festivals!

The annual mid-summer Mahone Bay Classic Boat Festival is a wonderful event for the whole family, in July artists paint the town for our Paint Mahone Bay Festival, early fall brings the Scarecrow Festival, and the Father Christmas Festival is a pre-Christmas treat.

In neighbouring Lunenburg, there are annual special events, such as the Folk Harbour Festival and the Nova Scotia Folk Art Festival

Only a short drive or bike ride away are beaches -- perfect for swimming and surfing, hiking and bird watching -- still more galleries of painters, potters and carvers; antique shops; weavers and the adjacent sea coast and sailing communities of Lunenburg and Chester.

Within an hour's drive, there's more to explore in Southwest Nova Scotia, there's historic Halifax, the glorious Annapolis Valley and all the adventures they provide.
